Marks are given for each book by giving it a number of . 5 means that it is excellent and 1 means that it is rubbish. 3 is average.

The Belgariad – By David Eddings:

(The Belgariad is a five book series)

The Belgariad is the story of a young boy called Garion. He has been brought up on a farm and believes that he is living with one of his Aunts. One day, a story-teller called “Mr Wolf” comes and tells his Aunt that she has to leave and she takes Garion with them. They go on a quest, following the Mrin Codex, a book of Prophecy. At the beginning of time, two conflicting prophecies were created and they are fighting all the time to be dominant. Garion is on the side of the Prophecy of light. The story is full of magic and adventure and shows how Garion grows up and learns about Sorcery.

In my opinion, this is an excellent series. The characters come to life and you can’t put the books down. Do not be fooled by the name “Mr Wolf” and think this is for children. The story is quite involved and very enjoyable.

The Mallorean – By David Eddings:

(The Mallorean is a five book series)

The Mallorean continues where the Belgariad ends. Belgarion (Garion) is now Overlord of the West, the Godslayer. At the end of the Belgariad, we thought that the Dark Prophecy had been destroyed. We now find out that Belgarion’s battle with the Dark was but one of many battles throughout time. However, the last battle is coming. This series leads Belgarion to Mallorea, where he meets Kal Zakath. Finally, a new God is raised over the Angaraks.

Like the first series, The Belgariad, this is also an excellent series. It is, however, very similar to the first series. Even so, I will still give this good marks.

The Wheel Of Time – Robert Jordan:

(This is a seven book series – so far)

Over a thousand years ago, Lews Therin Telamon broke the world and sealed the Dark One in his prison at Shayol Ghul. This story follows Rand and his friends as they get involved with an Aes Sedai (females who can access the one power) and journeys across the land to fight the Dark One.

This is an excellent series and to say any more would be spoiling it for you. I can truly say that this is the one of the best series that I have ever read and that it is in the same class as Lord of The Rings, The Lensman Series and the Thomas Covenant Series. This truly deserves 5 out of 5.
