Yes, I realise this is boring and that no-one really ever reads it, but just in case someone actually wants this information, here it is.

My name is Matthew Hardy, I’m 18 and I’m currently in my first year studying for my Computer Science BSc at Nottingham University, England. I have A-Levels in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and General Studies. I also have an AS-Level in Further Mathematics and 9 G.C.S.E.’s.

My hobbies include Kick Boxing and I play the Keyboard/Piano. I am currently a 1^st Dan Black Belt at Kick Boxing and I do some instructing for my club in my spare time. I have a grade 6 in Keyboard/Piano Performance and have played in many concerts and competitions in England. My other hobby was computing, but now that I am studying this for my degree, it can’t really be classed as a hobby any more.

I am also a member of the Nottingham University Science Fiction Society. I have also just been “elected” Vice-Prsident for next year.

One last quick fact is that I was one of forty people chosen from the world, through a competition to write a thesis on the Global Networks, to participate in a conference in Japan (see picture above taken for the T&A; newspaper). This conference was called the Global Information Infrastructure (GII) Junior Summit 1995. It was directly related to the Internet and the point of it was to discuss the future of the internet/GII. I was part of the group dicussing communications and I also helped to write the white paper for the group.
