SICI GENERATOR

This script will generate a Serial Item and Contribution Identifier (SICI number) that corresponds to ANSI/NISO Z39.56-199x version 2.

This program has been developed for my own personal use, please feel free to use it, but I do not guarantee that it will generate a correct SICI. The program was revised on 15 April 1998 when numerous bugs in the chronology fields were ironed out. Should you find any abnormalities in the SICIs produced, or wish to develop this into a robust application, please contact Steve Probets or Electronic Publishin\ \ \ g Solutions.

Please note that SICI numbers could to be generated for contributions to serials from the ninteenth, twentieth or twenty-first century, therefore all years should be included in full (e.g. 1996 not 96).
